Overview of the Galactic Free Republic (Orion Theocratic Republic & Prodono Android Alliance) Forces

        The end of the Outer Sphere War saw the victory of the Prodono Androids over the whole of all Terran stellar nations. This victory however was not through force of arms, or tyranny, or oppression. It was rather a victory in the sense that all of the Terran powers reluctantly agreed to allow the Prodono Android forces of Central Control to be overseers of the various stellar nations of mankind. This arrangement created an uneasy peace that lasted until the discovery of the Goro Duragal at The Moon of Good Hope in the Ross 47 star system in AD 2192. The Ross 47 conflict forged an alliance between the Prodono Android forces and the Orion Theocratic Republic to the chagrin of all the other Terran powers. Naturally, the Tartarian Technocracy and Cosmo Dragoons had foreseen this alliance coming and had built up a considerable military to deal with this eventuality. This new alliance between the Orion Theocratic Republic and Prodono Androids was loose at first, but by 2193 had solidified into the Galactic Free Republic. This new alliance was mostly on paper in 2193, however, the first major test of this alliance was the 2nd Interplanetary War in that same year.
          In the final battles of the Ross 47 conflict during 2192, the Neo-Hebrews of the Orion Theocracy began production of Prodono Federation style spacecraft and mecha for the Prodono Android forces at the Goro Duragal base on the Moon of Good Hope in the Ross 47 star system. Additionally, the capture of the Cosmo Dragoon's Goro Dei in the Chi Orionis star system by a combined force of Orion Theocratic Republic forces and the Prodono Android forces gave the Prodono Androids a base that would allow them to produce Prodono Federation warships to replace their ailing fleet of Prodono Alliance ships and mecha. As the Orion/Android alliance grew over the months of AD 2193, the Prodono Androids and Orion forces at Chi Orionis designed, developed and began production of the first join-Protean Aerospace fighter and an Orion Theocratic Republic knock off of the Colonial Confederacy/USSR Type-110 Protean Hover Tank to replace all of the mecha used by the Prodono Androids. That Protean fighter was the PD-05A Stellar Defender. The main reason for this conversion of the entire force of Prodono Android mecha to these new Protean mecha was due to the mission of the Android forces changing to one of securing the Goro Dei at Chi Orionis and the Goro Duragal at Ross 47, whereas the issue of the alien artifact recovered on the Moon of Good Hope was the responsibility of the 999th Special Operations Group.
         The 999th Special Operations Group was formed during the final months of the Outer Sphere War as a secret missions unit operating out of an abandoned and clandestine Prodono base in the Delta Pavonis star system. This stealth base had limited shipyard facilities, and mecha construction capability. It was however, suitable to supply and maintain the small, thirty-ship, flotilla the 999th used to scout out the Delta Pavonis star system. The missions of the 999th during the late 2180s were focused on the two main objectives. The first objective was to ferret out and locate Doctor Donaldson's Cosmo Dragoon fleet and their Goro Yuradei. While one might think that such a large space station like the Goro Yuradei would be easy to find, it was, in fact extremely difficult to locate in the asteroid laden rings of the gas giants of the Delta Pavonis star system. Many of the asteroids were as large or even larger than the massive Goro Yuradei. Some of the moons of the gas giants in the Delta Pavonis system were as large as the Earth. Additionally, the second objective of the 999th was to locate the stolen Prodono Republic Newel-Xergis class ship Posse Comitatus and deterine how to use the Compass device believed to be stored within it. Both of these objectives were focused on the main mission of the 999th, that being finding the location of the Goddess Device retrieving it for the Galactic Free Republic. Of particular note with regard to the spacecraft of the 999th is the introduction of three experimental spacecraft of a new class of warship called an Expeditionary Battleship. Only three of these craft were built for the 999th. The first was the Galaxias, built off a badly damaged Imperial Prodono Newel-Xergis class vessel recovered in 2187 in the Delta Pavonis star system. The craft required a massive overhaul which was done at the shipyard of the stealth base of the 999th. The craft was outfitted with a Light-Bending-Shield array custom taylored to it, a battery of electron-element beam cannons of Orion design, a pair of heavy electron-beam cannons (one port, and one starboard), two large docking bays each capable of holding one Ogre class troop transport (which acted as a ship's boat), an improved dorsal mecha takeoff-and-landing runway, and a Protean fighter mecha compliment. Other than that, the ship retained the fold drive, sublight drives, rotary blaster-cannons, and other original Imperial Prodono systems. It entered service in 2190 after extensive repair and retrofit. The second vessel to undergo the experimental refit was the Prodono Federation Newel-Xergis class ship Adventure Galaxy. Unlike the Galaxias, the Adventure Galaxy retained all of her original weapons (blasters and MASER turrets). It had a Light Bending Shield system, the same outboard Ogre class docking structures, Orion built missile pods, and Prodono Imperial fold drives and EMD sublight drives. The last of the three experimental Expeditionary Battleships was the Posse Comitatus II. This refit Prodono Republic Newel-Xergis class ship had a Light Bending Shield, the original Ion Blaster turrets of the Posse Comitatus, Orion built side docking bay hulls for the Ogre class troop transports and heavy electron-beam cannons, as well as Imperial Prodono fold system, sublight EMD drives, and deflector shields. All three of these craft were used to help develop the Phase II fleet built at Chi Orionis in 2193 at the end of the Ross 47 conflct and start of the 2nd Interplanetary War.
         The last main group of interest during the Ross 47 conflict and particularly the 2nd Interplanetary war was the Phase II fleet produced by a combined technological exchange of the Orion Theocratic Republic team at the Chi Orionis Goro Dei and the Prodono Android team also at that Prodono mobile battle factory. This fleet was not new per se, it was simply a general upgrade of the existing fleet of Orion spacecraft at Chi Orionis. Initially, this upgrade was primarily of the faster than light drives from the older Intersection and Stellar Warp drives to the Prodono Android Super Luminal Drives for the existing fleet of Orion Theocratic Republic vessels. However, as the situation of the Ross 47 conflict changed, and a full blown Interplanetary War became far more likely, the Galactic Free Republic alliance forces at the Goro Dei and Goro Duragal Prodono bases realized that newer vessels and further upgrade to some existing spacecraft were needed to meet the demands of a full scale war.
          The first major extended refit was to the Titan class. The older version was simply not up to the standards of the newer Tartarian Technocracy spacecraft, nor was the older version suitable to take on the larger Prodono Imperial type ships that might have been in Donaldson's Cosmo Dragoon fleet. The Excelsior class also required considerable upgrade in order to use the new SLV drives provided by the Prodono Androids. The Androids, under the command of Lady Uma (a Class 100, sentient, Female Prodono Android) gave their battle assessment of the Orion spacecraft as the Ross 47 conflict came to its zenith. Their conclusions was that a joint Android-Orion Newel-Xergis class vessel was needed to fill in the major gaps in capability in the Orion fleets. They also advised that a similar ship be built to replace the idea for a Expeditionary Battleship that involved refit Prodono Newel-Xergis type vessels. Of particular concern to them were the Eiden, Pan, and Evstafi class ships which they viewed as utterly obsolete and in need of replacement. They suggested replacing the Pan class with a redesigned J'hor D'Kom Prodono Alliance planetary assault ship that could use K'hor Kai Type-KK17695 dropships and/or a suitable Android-Orion type dropship design. Uma and her team found that replacing the Evstafi with a Lurveth Throm redesign, and the Eiden class with a Quev-Leah inspired design. They also found that a Raul Zhem Kai type corvette would help the tactical defensive line of the Orion fleets greatly.
          While only two of the ships suggested were produced by the outbreak of the 2nd Interplanetary War in 2193, the other suggestions were not shelved. In fact the Phase II fleet paved the way for what would become the Phase III fleet of the early 2200s that incorported these suggestions as well as Varna technologies from the fleet found near the Goro Dei in the Chi Orionis system.

Small Arms & Equipment

       The small arms and equipment of the Galactic Free Repulic were provided by the Prodono Androids and constructed at both the Goro Duragal at The Moon of Good Hope and the Goro Dei in the Chi Orionis star system later. This included the exoskeleton armor used by the Prodono Androids. This armor and weaponry was commonly used by the 999th Special Operations Group, but also had widespread issue in the Phase II fleet at Chi Orionis by 2193.
       

Vehicles & Spacecraft

       The vehicles and spacecraft of the Galactic Free Republic were nearly all built at the Goro Dei at Chi Orionis and Goro Duragal at Ross 47. They consisted of mostly Protean fighters for the Orion Theocratic Republic fleet, and 999th Special Operations Group.  The Prodono Android forces used vehicles and mecha that were mostly Prodono Federation and Prodono Republic types such as the AGAR, and Hai Richons until they were replaced by Protean mecha designs in mid-2193.
