Description/Overview:
After the PS-01 Protean Fighter was mass produced by the Jovian Defense Forces and then other Protean Fighter types in the Colonial Confederacy, the Council on Stellar Reliations knew they needed their own types of Protean mecha. After the success of the PA-He162, the CSR contracted LaGrange to build the PI-FW-TA283 Protean Interceptor in late 2178. The idea being that the PI-FW-TA283 could compete with the PI-02 Raven. Mass production of the PI-FW-TA283 began in early 2180 as the situation with the Ceres Regency became more strained. The CSR however chose not to use their Protean mecha in the Ceres Conflict or Outer Sphere War due to a lack of properly trained pilots. Like all of the Protean mecha built by the CSR in the late 2170s, the PI-FW-TA283 was obsolete by time of the Outer Sphere War, and so the Tartarian military relegated the Interceptor to "Ghost" status, meaning that it would be piloted primarily by Tartarian built android pilots. Therefore, the PI-FW-TA283 Interceptors used during the Ross 47 conflict that would lead into the 2nd Interplantary War were all considered "Drone" or "Ghost" mecha.
