              The PA-100 was able to carry bombs, missiles, gunpods, and armor upgrade systems on externally mounted hardpoints.  These hardpoints were located on the wings and chest of the craft.  There was one large hardpoint on the chest for the gunpod.  Each of the wing hardpoints was able to carry up to ten tons of ordinance. Normally two Nippon Military Industries LRM-15-24 long range missile launcher pods (Effect Range: 1250 miles; Payload: 24 missiles; ROF: 1-12 per attack) and one Norking LRM-50-03 long range missile launcher pod(Effective Range: 1112 miles; Payload: 3-heavy missiles; ROF: 1-3 missiles per 2 seconds) were mounted on each wing on one triple hardpoint.

Description/Overview:
          The PA-100 Cosmo Saber was the first actual Protean mecha built by the Planetary Alliance under the technological exchange agreements of the newly forged Sol Alliance. The Tartarian Technocracy contributed to the design of the PA-100 in terms of the defensive force field systems, plasma ax, and transformation unit. The PA-100 was meant to be a general purpose aerospace Protean fighter for use in both the tactical role of fleet and space station defense, as well as planetary assault to support the VBR Type-81 variable battle robot that had failed as a space fighter, but excelled as a planetary combat unit.
          The Earth, Venus, Mars, and Lagrange factories of the Sol system produced the VBR Type-81 almost exclusively in order to replace the entire stockpile of MBR-01 and MBR-02 main battle robots, the Jovian and Outer Sphere factories of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Tyche all produced the PA-100 and future Protean mecha that replaced the venerable HSF-01, HBR-01 series, SBR-01 series, and SBR-02 series of mecha.
          The weapons of the PA-100 were standard mini-missile types based on the Prodono Hai Richon missile systems. The forearm/nose beam weapons were Meson cannons, useful for strafing enemy space stations and spacecraft as well as defensive use against other mecha. The main weapon of the PA-100 was its EMPAC gun pod. This weapon (like all those of the PA-100) was based on early weapon designs such as the gunpod used by the HBR-01K. This gunpod was devastating against both Prodono and Terran borne mecha.
