Description/Overview:
          The Argonaut was a competing "Cosmo Cruiser" design with the Alamo class, only it was smaller in tonnage, and used a slightly different weapon loadout. Initially the Argonaut design was shelved in favor of the Alamo, however, as the situation with the Tartarian Technocracy began to break down, and the Prodono Androids started playing babysitter to the various stellar nations of mankind, the Planetary Alliance saw the need for another class of cruiser that could help fill the gap that the demotion of the Ajax class cruiser created. Most notible was the exclusive use of the rapid fire, medium Meson turrets. These turrets were power consumption hogs and required 10,000 megawatts each in order to provide ten dual 500 megawatt blasts in a ten second duration. This however was considered a necessary addition to the new Planetary Alliance fleets as a new conflict loomed on the horizon. The unintended consequence of the construction of the Argonaut class was that it caused military planners to decide to upgrade the Alamo class.
