Overview of the Principality of Altair

              With rapidly shifting political and military landscape of the Local Group of Stars forcing Prince Charles Dalltan to change his plans and adapt them to the new reality, Charles created what was to be the last fleet of Altarian built spacecraft. This last fleet of warships were based on the Ceres Regency designs built prior to the 1st Interplanetary War era. This new fleet of Ceres Style vessels would be the last in the line of craft created in that style and also the final fleet built at the Altair IV shipyard by the Principality of Altair. The new armada was part of a long-term plan by Charles Dalltan he had formulated during the Outer Sphere War and finalized in 2188. The plan was so secreat that even the crews of the ships were not aware of it or why the new warships were designed and outfitted they way they were.
             The new fleet was essentially a doomsday fleet. One intended to repel an alien invasion. Due to this, all of the remaining resources of the Principality of Altair at that time were poured into this armada. The result was a series of newer, larger, and more powerful Ceres Regency upgrades. The new armada was built from all of the remaining hulls the Principality had left after the Outer Sphere War ended. This new fleet also used experimental Super Luminal Velocity drive units and configurations. While these new drives and their multi-drive unit configurations did function properly and were cleared for use after years of testing. The new designs pushed the viability of the Ceres Regency type spacecraft designs to the limit of what their hulls could manage.
              The story sold to the people of the Principality of Altair--outside of Prince Dalltan and his most trusted confidants--was that the new fleet was built to deal specifically with Doctor Adrianne Donaldson's Cosmo Dragoon fleet. It was for this reason that this new aramda was armed and equipped with the entire remaining stockpile of Ceres Regency and Grandy Duchy of Ceres fitted wtih Neural Link Systems. The propaganda line put out was that these NLS equipped mecha would allow the Principality pilots to go head-to-head with the Hai Richon Prodono battlesuits of Donaldson's forces. While there is certainly a kernal of truth to this government manipulation of the truth by Dalltan, the actual reasons for not using the new Protean fighters of the Union of Sovereign Solar Republics would not be known until 2235 AD.
              On the day of the new armada's maiden flight--April 12th, AD 2193--it was under the command of Duke of the Fleet Conrad Collus. He and his wife--who was also the second in command of the fleet--Duchess Mia Furrier Collus, began the voyage of the new fleet without incident. It was not until the fleet set course for the Delta Pavonis star system and engaged their Super Luminal Velocity drives that the incident happened. This incident was later reported to be a malfunction in the multi-drive configuration of the capital ships. The problem with this official story sold to the citizens of the Principality of Altair was that the bulk of the new fleet were single SLV drive ships. Yet they too were redirected to Altair VII and the Annunaki galaxy gate there. The fleet passed through the Annunaki Triskelion Babilu almost as soon as they had come out of hyperspace near it, and then vanished through the gateway.
