Description/Overview:
         The Panzerschiff was a major upgrade of the Gneisenau class battlecruiser. The primary hull was the same, but the configuration of it was altered to house the bridge section at the aft of the hull rather than the bow. This improved the defense of the bridge via clusters of anti-mecha rapid fire PHELAC beam turrets. The original configuration of three Intersection drives was replaced with a single Super Luminal Velocity drive mounted on the secondary hull of the ship. The new SLV drive had a space-time dilation that was greater than that of he Gneisenau class. A pair of heavy plasma drives were added in the recess formerly used for the Intersection Drive nacelles. These drives greatly improved the sublight speed of the vessel. The older ion engines were removed as the increased displacement tonnage made them useless. The secondary hull was added not only to provide a mount for the Super Luminal Velocity drive, but also to add additional torpedoes, cannons, and a heavy beam maw weapon. This class didn't serve in the Ross 47 conflict, nor the 2nd Interplanetary War. All ships of this class were considered lost until 2235 AD when they emerged from hyperspace unexpectedly.
