Description/Overview:
          The Joan of Arc class was not simply an upgrade of the Bayern class it was a total overhaul of the vessel class. The Joan of Arc class had the same weapons as the Bayern, only a secondary hull was fitted to it where additional heavy ion torpedo tubes, and a maw gun were added. The Joan of Arc class used a pair of the new Super Luminal Velocity drives. These drives replaced the quartet of Intersection Drives. The older Intersection Drives gave the Bayern class a space-time dilation of 0.216 light-years per hour, while the new SLV drives gave the Joan of Arc class a space-time dilation of 0.64 light-years per hour. A vast improvement. The secondary hull housed the class's heavy plasma drive unit. This drive unit propelled the ship at a velocity of 7,220,000 miles (KM 9.5). This was required due to the increase in the vessel's displacement tonnage. Overall, the Joan of Arc class was not battle tested until the 2230s when it was clearly obsolete. Though, Prince Dalltan understood the role the ships he sent into the future would play in the conflict he knew was coming.
