Description/Overview:

The LaGrange ES-36/54 space exosuit was a major upgrade of the 2130s era space industrial construction exosuit.  The ES-36/54 had all of the construction equipment (plasma torch, grappling equipment, drills, milling attachments, etc) removed and a wide range of armaments and armor added.  The ES-36/54 uses ten Kolt RPG-12-2 plasma grenade launcher pods (three on each shoulder armor plate, and two on each outer calf armor plate) as its main anti-space fighter weapon (range 5.7 miles), a pair of Brownen .70 caliber/17.5-millimeter GPMG (general purpose machine guns mounted on the left forearm as main defense (1170 yard range), and one ESR-52 .84 caliber/21-millimeter exosuit rifle with a 1200 round pie-plate drum (1377 yard range) as its main weapon.  The ES-35/54 was very effective against both the Type-35 and Type-43 tanks used by the UNSC.  It also fared modestly well against the SF-01 space fighter since its nuclear-electric rocket motors had a speed that was nearly twice as fast as that of the SF-01 (7600 mph of ES-36/54 versus 3040 mph for SF-01).  The ES-36/54 had thick armor for an exosuit, as well as a pair of electro-static armor generators mounted on the hip-armor plates of the machine.  Its unique see-through dome cockpit canopy gave the pilot unprecedented visual capability (especially when harnessed with optical sensors of combat armor or personal EVA suits).  The pilot stands within the cockpit of this machine due to the zero-g environment it was intended for, and to allow the pilot to turn around easily.  This feature is great in space and on low-g worlds, but on Earth it proved to make the machine a liability.  The US-EA-45 exosuit/armor of the USSN was far better suited to combat ops on a planet like Earth or Mars.  Both exosuits share the same hydraulic muscle mechanisms, and weaponry (the ES-45 Paladin has fewer weapons, but greater armor).  The power source of the ES-36/54 is a small nuclear battery due to the low power requirements of the machine (kilowatt range).
