Description/Overview:
          The SBB-02 was originally a design demanded by Supreme Commander Kolchak of the Union of Solar Repulics in 2179 when he saw the deficiences of the SBB-01 space battleship (Union class). The short comings of the SBB-02 were brought to the forefront during the Ceres Conflict. It's main heavy PHELAC turrets were effective against Terran technology spacecraft, but against the Prodono made ships, with their energy-resistant armor, their performance were not commensurate to the power they consumed and their slow rate of fire. The Outer Sphere War, which involved the massive Prodono Android armada, brought the short comings of these heavy beam weapons out into the open. Once the Outer Sphere War had concluded, the Alkaidian Republic replaced their large beam turrets with MESON weapons of the same size and megawatt requirements as that of the old PHELACs. The secondard beam turrets and space torpedoes alse required upgrade to the standards of the late 2180s, thus both were replaced with newer types. The engines were replaced with more advanced Stellar Warp Drive nacelles, and plasma drives.
