Description/Overview:
             The Rivadavia class Battlecruiser was originally conceived of in 2160 AD as a command cruiser/battlecarrier with FTL capability.  The Borodino class was greatly hampered by its inability to retreat or escape via FTL drive from the superior warships of the Ceres Regency.  Most of the Borodino class ships were either badly damaged or destroyed by Ceres after they entered the war on the side of the EFR.  Once the Ceres armada had begun decimating the Solar Empire's sublight fleet during 2173, the new Supreme Commander of the UNSC, Edric VonStalin, demanded the Borodino class be refit with an Intersection Drive as quickly as possible.
             The result was the Rivadavia class of battlecruiser.  The Rivadavia class was basically the same as the Borodino class only with improved engines, and defenses.
            After the demise of the Solar Empire, Edric VonStalin and Lady Isabeau Furrier created the Colonial Confederacy in the outer planets of the Sol system.  The Rivadavia served in their forces as a Light Cruiser in their new space navy.
