In general, the nuclear dampeners provided moderate to considerable resistance to energy weapons and were able to cause missile warheads to either explode or go inert within their area of effect.

Description/Overview:
             The Boikii class Main Space Destroyer was first built in limited numbers during the early 2160s to combat the Juno class of space frigate used by the USSN.  Only twenty-five Boikii class destroyers were constructed during that time.  All twenty-five of the completed vessels were lost during the first failed missions to destroy the Posse Comitatus when it crashed into the Ross Sea in the late 2160s.  However, eight uncompleted Boikii class ships were left unfinished in their space garages in orbit around the Martian moon of Phobos.  These Boikii class ships were secretly finished in 2171 AD on orders from Lady-Chairman Isabeau Furrier who defied the wishes of the Soviet Elite in her bid to crush the EFR space fleet.  Her plans were accelerated unexpectedly when Supreme Commander Edric VonStalin called for the construction of the “Project Ironclad” fleet of space warships to defend the Solar Empire.
             Four hundred Boikii class ships were built between 2172 and 2174 by the UN Solar Empire before the ship was replaced by the Conqueror class.  The greatest number of Boikii class ships lost by the UN was during “Operation Blitzkrieg” and the invasion of Earth.  The Boikii class ships were instrumental in landing large numbers of tanks onto Ceres, Luna, and Earth.
             After the 1st Interplanetary War was over, the Mars Colonial Republic and Venus Consortium built large numbers of Boikii class ships to guard the planetary spheres of those planets within their orbital defense fleets.  The exact numbers of Boikii class vessels built during the post-1st Interplanetary War period is unknown.
