Description/Overview:
Very little is known about the long history of the O'Mek Type-199997 modular shuttlecraft other than it is an ancient Prodono design that was built sometime during the Prodono Federation era. The O'Mek was a general purpose space shuttle armed with a pair of rapid-fire dual-Ion-Blaster beam turrets that were the predecessors to the type used on the AGAR walkers of the Prodono Republic era. These turrets were used against other mecha in a point-defense role.
Examples of this shuttle were found on the Moon of Good Hope (fourth moon of the sixth planet of the Ross 47 star system) by Earth-borne powers in 2193 at the large Goro Duragal mobile base there. The shuttle was modular in the sense that it had a core or basic shuttle that could "split" in two, and then up to three passenger cabins could be attached between the two halves. This gave the shuttle the ability to carry from four passengers in the basic shuttle to as many as 154 passengers with all three passenger containers attached.
The O'Mek Type-199997 space shuttle maneuvers on a bed of gravitons generated by its anti-gravity generator. While this gravity unit provides g-compensation and maneuverability, it does not provide propulsion. The propulsion of the spacecraft was generated by a single L'Quen-Feul HF-191900-33 Plasma Drive. The older Prodono type plasma drive system was adequate for most normal shuttle missions and thus was retained all the way into the Prodono Imperial era. The drive allowed for the shuttle to have a maximum velocity of 2111 miles per second.
The O'Mek Type-199997 modular shuttle used a pair K'Tellar Ubrich KTU-Type-199001 Level-3 omnidirectional Plasma-Type deflector field generators as its main defense. These generators provided considerable protection for the spacecraft helping it survive on the battlefield should it find itself in a combat situation.
