CC-CP-01
After the 1st Interplanetary War ended, it became clear that weapons with recoil were a hindrance during the war, especially in zero-G environments. Therefore, the decision was made to arm the defense forces of the Colonial Confederacy with beam weapons. The first of the new beam weapons was the CC-CP-01 "Core" Pistol. This 9mm, 10-kilowatt sidearm was produced in insane numbers and became the most common pistol in the Local Group of Stars (star systems within 100-light years of Sol) by 2190.

CC-CP-01C:
The Colonial Confederacy chose to built a universal weapon system rather than a dedicated rifle for their spacecraft crews. Therefore, the CC-CP-01C is basically the "Core" Pistol with a beam-booster (barrel extension) and pistol brace (high energey magazine/buttstock). This modifies the basic pistol into a .50 caliber/12.7 millimeter pistol caliber, with a 100-kilowatt drain on the magazine. The weapon's charge rate made it capable of only semi-automatic fire, but it was more powerful than a standard laser weapon of the time period. |

CCBR-01 Colonial Confederacy Battle Rifle Type-01:
The Pluto Republic--being founded by Lady Isabeau Furrier--had intimate knowledge of the alien Zaphner/Tartak energy and were thus familiar with the zombie-effect it had on dead bodies which were controlled by the alien intelligence from the massive alien structures in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Therefore, the Colonial Confederacy wanted a battle rifle capable of using plasma rounds--which were extremely effective against Tartak-Zombies--rather than a standard beam assault rifle. A 0.40 caliber/10-mm weapon that fired a 10-mm by 84-mm armor-piercing micro-plasma-grenade. This recoilless round could penetrate any man-sized combat armor with a few rounds, even Prodono, and was lethal to non-armored targets. It's large, triple-stack, thirty-round magazine. This triple-stack magazine and small plasma-grenade combination allowed for a weapon with ten rounds more than the venerable PG-62, in a weapon package of the same weight. The PG-74 was considered to be far too heavy at over 50 pounds with its 100-round dual-drum magazine, as was the Solar Empire's 30-pound PL-74 plasma rifle. Hence, the CCBR-01 sacrifices range, and overall stopping power for an increase in magazine capacity and a managable weapon weight that doesn't require the use of an exosuit or power armor. |
