Description/Overview:

         (USR Omni-Hull Warship Frame type one family of spacecraft)
         The USR omni-frame line of warships was conceived of by the lady-chairman of the UN Solar Empire after the Earth Federation Forces launched “Operation Zeus’ Spear” in 2073 AD. The UNSC forces had suffered a major disruption of their supply lines to and from Venus and Mars.  In Lady Furrier’s opinion, the UN Solar Empire elite Soviet Council had been too slow in the development of newer “Ironclad” type warships with which to overcome the EFSN fleet.  Therefore, she ordered the UN commander at Vesta to begin development of a new fleet of spacecraft, which centered on a single main body that could be fitted with different modules, thus allowing for the construction of different levels of warships as needed. This new family of omni-hull warships, as she called them, would help reduce the cost of such a fleet in terms of tooling and manufacturing needs.
         Unfortunately,for Furrier and the Solar Empire, Charles Dalltan had control of the base commander of the Vesta installation in 2073 AD, and thus he ordered the construction of the fleet to be postponed until such time that Alphonse Zhukov took possession of the planetoid base.  However, Charles did instruct his minions on Vesta to design and fully develop the omni-hull warships in order for their blueprints to be ready upon Zhukov’s arrival.
         Therefore,after the Battle of Vesta in 2075 AD, Alphonse Zhukov’s forces took control of the planetoid and “discovered” the omni-hull warship plans that Dalltan had instructed be left for them.  The Zhukovist forces began the immediate construction of these ships in 2076 AD.
         This family of warships was built to be pure spacecraft and was useless in an atmosphere.  However, these craft proved to be extremely effective against the Solar Empire forces in 2076 AD.

         (HSD-01 SPACE DESTROYER)
         The HSD-01 heavy space destroyer was the workhorse of the USR spacenavy.  Considerably larger than the AS-04/TS-04, the HSD-01 was the first true space warship built by the USR.
         The unique feature of the Omni-Hull Warship Frames was their multi-reactor cluster modules that held either four or five Gaea Energy GEFR-4400 4400-megawatt fusion reactors each.  In the case of the HSD-01, one quad-cluster module was mounted on the port side next to the port warp engine nacelle and one quad-cluster module was mounted on the opposite side of the ship next to the starboard-side warp engine nacelle.  One pentad-cluster was mounted in the center of the ship towards the aft.  Each of the two quad-clusters was used to power the energy-hungry high yield ion engines, while the single pentad-cluster was used to power the other needs of the ship including the FTL drives.
         The UNSC had intended for this first design to use a Type-2A intersection drive unit, but Dalltan’s engineers at Vesta scrapped this idea and instead used an entirely new FTL drive technology, that being stellar warp drive.
         The HSD-01 used a pair of tandem Prodotech (Prodono technology) SWD-3420 stellar warp drive units as its faster-than-light drive.  The combined speed of this pair of FTL engines gave the ship a maximum warp speed of .304 light years per hour. These drives were mounted in what was dubbed an “Advanced Tandem Traction” configuration that allowed the warp nacelles to pull the ship along the various electro-element lines of force at greater speeds than that of the first Cydonia Research CR-TSWD-760 stellar warp drive configuration used on the AS-04 assault shuttles.
         The sublight propulsion of the HSD-01 consisted of two Eurospace ES-ID-18000 18,000-megawatt high yield ion drives.  The sublight engines had an individual maximum speed of 152,000 mph/Mach 200 and a combined maximum of 304,000 mph/Mach 400.  These engines were sufficient to meet nearly every mission requirement the HSD-01 was expected to perform.
         The HSD-01 was armed with three Centauri Research CR-PC-3252 dual 325-megawatt PHELAC turrets.  These weapons were extremely powerful and were capable of destroying an EFF Anapolis class cruiser with one barrage of all three dual cannons.  These cannons were also capable of defeating nearly all types of deflector field generators with one hit.
         In addition to the three dual turrets, the HSD-01 had three Proxima Arms PA-STL-800 space torpedo tubes.  These torpedo launchers fired the USR-SRT-800 short-range missile armed with an 800-pound warhead of various types including nuclear and HEAP.  The range of these torpedoes limited their effectiveness, but did give the HSD-01 a hard-hitting punch at close range.
         The HSD-01 also carried a complement of twenty SF-03A space torpedo-fighter/bombers that often acted as the real torpedo weaponry of the heavy space destroyer.
         The defense systems of the HSD-01 were six Proxima Research PR-DF-1100 1100-megawatt deflector field generators originally built by the USR at the facilities on Io (Jupiter’s moon), but then moved the manufacturing facilities to their base on one of the planetoids orbiting Proxima Centauri.
         The HSD-01 was built in large numbers.  Some 160 were built per year up until 2076 AD. This made the total known produced to be 480 by the end of the 1st Interstellar War.  The USR continued to produce these craft well after the war at Alpha Centauri.  However, it is not known how many were built.  Estimates put the number somewhere around 1000 to as many as 10,000 by 2110 AD.

         (HSG-01 HEAVY SPACE FRIGATE)
         The HSG-01 heavy space frigate was the second omni-hull warship frame type built by the USR.  It was built using the exact same hull as the HSD-01 except that some areas were enlarged and more weapons were added, thus increasing the tonnage of the ship.
         The HSG-01 uses one pentad-cluster of Gaea Energy GE-4400 fusion reactors on each side of the ship, one cluster next to each of the stellar warp drive nacelles.  These two clusters provide the power for both the high yield ion engines and the stellar warp drive units.  One quad-cluster was located in the central-aft of the ship and was used to power all of the other systems of the ship.
         The Prodono-Technologies (ProdonoTech) SWD-3420 stellar warp drives were also used in the HSG-01, but the maximum speed was reduced to .276 light years per hour due to the increased tonnage of the ship.  This drop in FTL speed was considered insignificant, as the distances between star-systems within the local group of stars around Sol/Alpha Centauri were less than 100 light years apart in most cases.
         The sublight engines of the heavy space frigate were the same as those used on the HSD-01.  The pair of Eurospace ES-ID-18,000 ion drives had a reduced speed of 138,320 mph/Mach 182 maximum each engine and 276,640 mph/Mach 364 combined.  This speed was still considered adequate for both general and combat operations.
         Two additional Centauri Research CR-PC-3252 dual 325-megawatt PHELAC turrets were added to the HSG-01, bringing the total to 5 cannons and increasing the firepower of the basic frame considerably.  This allowed the heavy frigate to go head-to-head with the Solar Empire’s capital ships up to the Harpy class heavy cruiser.
         Three additional USR-ST-800 space torpedo launchers were installed.  This additional firepower was useful at close range and against hardened targets like spacestations, planetoid installations, and planetary bases, but not very useful against other ships of its era.
         The mobile weapons complement of the HSG-01 was bolstered by the addition of 20 BattleKnights along with the original 20 SF-03A space torpedo-fighter/bombers. This gave the heavy space frigate both long-range and close-range mobile weapons support and increased the effectiveness of the vessel overall.
         The defense systems of the HSG-01 were upgraded from the six PR-DF-1100 deflector field generators of the HSD-01 to six Centauri Research CR-DF-1600 1600-megawatt deflector field generators.  These generators provided ample protection for the ship against nearly all types of beam weaponry in common use during the 1st Interplanetary War and the few years afterwards.
         Some 400 of this class were built before 2078 AD.  Of those, all were either destroyed, gone to Alpha Centauri, or in the hands of the Grand Duchy of Ceres.  The number of HSF-01s built after 2078 AD is unknown, although estimates range from around 2500 to 5000 ships built by 2110 AD.

         (SBC-01 BATTLECRUISER)
         The SBC-01 Battlecruiser was a nasty warship, built as a command/battleship, and the SBC-01 design centered on ship-to-ship combat.  Its massive firepower (for a ship of its time) indicated that it was not intended for use against the Earth Federal Republic’s space fleet, as it was far more powerful than it needed to be in order to contend with the EFSN or EFSM fleet of the day.  It was obviously designed to do combat with the alien (Prodono) type warships and the Solar Empire Ironclad fleet.  This was a clear indicator to the Zhukovists that Dalltan had a hand in the development of this craft and ultimately the entire Omni-Hull Warship Frame family of ships.
         The fusion reactor clusters of the battlecruiser consisted of the same configuration as the HSG-01 plus one forward quad-cluster located just behind the maw-gun.  Each of the side pentad-clusters powered one of the high yield ion engines and one of the stellar warp drives.  The forward cluster powered the maw-gun and the forward deflector field generator.  The aft quad-cluster powered all of the other systems.
         The SBC-01 was built on the same basic frame as that of the HSD-01 and HSF-01, except that it had enlarged hangar bays, four additional PHELAC turrets, a maw-gun, and an improved bridge section.  This added an additional 2000 tons to the ship's displacement.
         The FTL drive of the space battlecruiser was the same as the other two ships in its class, that being a tandem pair of Prodotech SWD-3420 stellar warp drives.  The speed of the FTL drives was reduced to .258 light years per hour due to the increased weight of the craft over that of the HSD-01.
         The sublight drives were also the same as those of the HSD-01, a pair of Eurospace ES-ID-18,000 ion drives.  These drives were able to propel the SBC-01 at a maximum speed of 124,640 mph/Mach 164 each (249,280mph/Mach 328 combined) due to the increased tonnage of the UNSB-01.  This was the slowest the USR found acceptable for a warship of the SBC-01’s caliber.  The speed was still adequate for most operations.
         The SBC-01 used seven Centauri Research CR-PC-3252 dual 325-megawatt PHELAC turrets positioned at key points on the hull of the vessel.
         The space battlecruiser had six USR-SRT-800 short-range space torpedo launchers identical to the ones used on the other two ships of the omni-hull family.
         Its unique weapon was a single Centauri Research CR-EMPAC-10K 10,000-megawatt heavy electromagnetic particle accelerator cannon that was mounted at the bow of the ship as a maw-gun.  This weapon provided a devastating blast for a warship the size of the SBC-01.  It was equivalent to the main gun of the Anapolis/Thomas Jefferson class cruiser upgrade.
         The combination of weapon systems of the SBC-01 made this battlecruiser far more powerful than anything found on most other warships of the 1st Interplanetary Era.
         The defenses of the SBC-01 were also greater then those of the other two ships in the omni-hull family.  Six Centauri Research CR-DF-2600 deflector field generators were fitted to the battlecruiser as its main defense systems.  These deflector fields were quite powerful and could withstand hits from some of the strongest capital ship weapons of the 21st century.
         There were 200 SBC-01 class ships built prior to 2079 AD.  All of these craft survived the 1st Interplanetary War.  Afterwards, they were used in the spacenavy of the USR at Proxima and Alpha Centauri.  The number produced after 2079 AD is completely unknown.  However, military analysts put the estimated total number built at 1250 to 2500 as of 2110 AD.
