Overview of the Principality of Altair
Dalltan’s dream of a new galactic order began with the formation of the Grand Duchy of Ceres in 2182 AD. It was however only another stepping stone in his plan to unify all of the stellar nations of Sol into one political body. The next phase of his master plan was the creation of a stellar nation outside the Sol star system in a place where he could develop his schemes further without interference from either the Planetary Alliance or Colonial Confederacy. This new power was a major force in shaping the Cosmo-political landscape of the last quarter of the 22nd Century. The Principality of Altair was comprised of the men and women loyal to Premier Charles Dalltan after the Grand Duchy was routed from the Solar solar system at the end of the Ceres Conflict of the 2182-2185 time period.
The Principality of Altair was initially comprised of only the O'Neill cylinder colony orbiting the fourth planet of the Altair star system. However, their actual influence spread throughout numerous mining colonies within the asteroid belt, the colonies in Altair near the other planets of the system, and Kolchak's forces within the Union of Solar Republics.
The Principality of Altair was the fist stage in the Dalltan’s plan of creating his own government and expanding its influence beyond the Sol star system. but also part of his plan to secure the Annunaki Triskelion Babilu that was in orbit around Altair 7, some 850,000 kilometers (518,750 miles) from the "Hot Jupiter" and 40,000 kilometers (25,000 miles) above the dust disc of the massive gas giant. The Annunaki Triskelion Babilu was considered to be a greater find than the Shemyaza by Dalltan. He saw it for what it was, a literal transit system gate that connected other parts of the Milky Way galaxy, and possibly the Megallanic Cloud or even galaxies of the Local Group of galaxies.
Dalltan had begun the plans for creating the impetus for his cosmic-empire from Altair nearly at the outbreak of the 1st Interplanetary War during the 2170s. It was a task that would have been impossible without the aid of the objects in the asteroid belt and being who had resided within them for millenia. The objects provided Dalltan with the means to achieve his ends, and the ancient alien was more than willing to assist. Charles had already carefully maneuvered the Ceres Regency into a launching platform for the 2nd phase of his grand design, and with the artifacts and relics in the Altair system he was able to move to the next phase of it.
During the late 2170s and early 2180s, Dalltan rebuilt the huge spacefleet that had been wiped out by the Gohlehm incident of the Vesta Atlas gap in 2177 and even added new designs that were exclusive to the Principality of Altair and not found in the normal flotillas of the Grand Duchy of Ceres. Unbeknownst to the powers of the Sol star system, Dalltan was building an even larger force at Altair using his colony there and considerable cloning to resupply his lost ranks. This new fleet was bolstered when the Prodono Alliance android force was found sometime during the Ceres Conflict. This fleet initially assisted Dalltan during his time of need when his Tartak-infected body was on its last leg. The technology of the Prodono Androids was such that they transfered Dalltan's essence/consciousness into an cybernetic body.
However, due to Dr. Donaldson backstabbing Dalltan over his demands that she stop kidnapping the colonists of the other stellar nations of Sol, the android fleet became a major adversary of Dalltan and caused considerable setbacks for his plans during the Outer Sphere War –namely the destruction of much of his 2nd armada. Dalltan was forced to alter his timetable and plans considerably and incorporated an alliance with Lady Furrier of Pluto, Kolchak of Alpha Centauri (who was already Dalltan's puppet) and Alphonse Zhukov of Alkaid.
The foolish continuation of her kidnapping of colonists caused the Prodono Alliance Androids to enter into the Outer Sphere War. Their involvement pushed the people Dalltan wanted to join his new alliance into it after the Peace Conferences of 2185 and 2186, but was not solidified until the marriage of Lady Furrier's daughter Mia to Prince Dalltan's charge Conrad Collus in 2188. The new alliance was unofficially called the Union of Sovereign Solar Republics (USSR) and was an mutual defense pact against Dr. Donaldson and eventurally the Tartarian Technocracy that was allied with Donaldson and her own plans for humanity.
