Description/Overview:
The Prodono Type-20147 Hai-Richon Battlesuit was not the first machine of this type built by the 1st Prodono Republic, but it was among the most successful types ever built according to the findings of UNSC head researcher, Dr. Xiang.  The Type-20147 was the culmination of thousands of years of galactic warfare and untold numbers of planetary assaults, space battles, and solar system-wide campaigns of conquest and defense, which the Republic had conducted over the millennia of its existence.  The Hai-Richon was built by every major battlefactory facility of the 2.0147 to at least 2.1397 GS time frame (298,530-286,030 BC Earth Relative), a period of 12,500 years.  Xiang determined that since each battlefactory was capable of producing hundreds of thousands of Hai-Richon battlesuits in a decade, there would be incalculable numbers of them within the known production period of 12,500 years.  What became of these machines was not known by Dr. Xiang, but he speculated that most of them were probably destroyed in some massive galaxy-wide war, which may have also ended the Prodono Republic.
For all of its advanced design concepts, the Hai-Richon was still little more than just a battlerobot.  It was built along the same principles as many robotic combat vehicles in that it used a humanoid shape built around a central reactor core with peripheral systems such as engines, sensors, communications, and weapons fitted to the extremities and available points on the torso.
The main power source of the Hai-Richon was one Obuch-Ron Type-20042 200-megawatt fusion reactor originally used in the fiftieth Hai-Richon model built in 2.0042 GS (299,580 BC Earth Relative).  It provided all the power the Hai-Richon Type-20147 needed to power its electrical systems, engines, and energy weapons.
The Hai-Richon used a simple robot walker drivetrain for leg motion and mobility. One Moi-Kai MK-26 robot walker engine propelled the mecha at up to 25 mph maximum.  This was considered acceptable because the Hai-Richon was intended to be used primarily in space or as an aerial vehicle in an atmosphere, thus running speed was not a priority for this battlesuit.
The combat speed engines (intended for use on or near planets, spacecraft, and spacestations) consisted of a pair of Gruel-Khan GK-3.75 fusion thrusters mounted one on each end of the flight-pack of the machine.  Each of these fusion thrusters was able to propel the battlesuit at speeds of up to 190,000 mph; combined, their speed was 380,000 mph.  This speed was more than adequate for the mission parameters they were expected to perform.
The Hai-Richon was fitted with an interplanetary engine for long-range assault operations.  One Vrlek-Uph-Kai VUK-2.1 EMD electromagnetic drive was fitted to the center backside of the flight-pack of the mecha.  This engine could accelerate the battlesuit to speeds of up to 1,520,000 mph, which was more than enough speed for the cosmic battle doctrines of the Prodono.
The primary focus of the designers of the Hai-Richon Type-20147 seems to have been on the machine’s weaponry.  The standard type of armor of the era of this battlesuit was that of energy-resistant armor.  Therefore, the weapon systems of mecha of its day had to overcome the requirements of galactic-scale battle.  This meant that the use of energy weapons was a staple of warfare for the time frame of the Type-20147.  However, energy-resistant armor was very effective in rendering most energy weapons useless against it, thus a battlesuit like the Hai-Richon required high-powered energy weapons and reactive weaponry for use against opponents using energy-resistant armor-plated mecha.
Chief among the weapons of this battlesuit was the Lor-Que-Tah-Ochar Type-LQTO-20101 combination 40-megawatt beam lance and linear cannon built sometime around 2.0101 GS (298,990 BC) for use on an earlier battlesuit design.  This weapon was the standard issue weapon pod for battlesuits of the Prodono era.  A devastatingly powerful combination weapon system could deliver both a long- and short-range punch that few other mecha could withstand.  A single shot of the linear cannon or thrust with the beam lance could severely damage or destroy any mecha of a Terran-borne power throughout the 21st century.  The major drawback to this weapon was that its reactive cannon (the linear cannon) had only forty shells before it was empty.  The beam lance itself had enough power for up to forty days of continuous usage.
To compensate for the weapon pod’s shortcomings, the designers of the Hai-Richon Type-20147 incorporated mounted beam weapons and mini-missile launchers to act as “backup” to the main weapon system.
The first of these secondary weapons was a pair of Xergin-Tah Type-XT-20138 28-megawatt blaster cannons first introduced on an early model of Hai-Richon sometime around 298,620 BC (Earth Relative).  One of these ion blasters was mounted on the top of each forearm of the battlesuit and was used almost exclusively for medium-range attacks and for close-range defense.
The secondary close-support and anti-personnel weapons was a pair of Gur’Zull Xergin-Tah Type-GZXT-21106 2-megawatt rapid-fire ion blaster cannons used on an earlier model of battlesuit built by the Prodono sometime around 288,940 BC. This duo of rapid-fire blaster cannons was very useful in place of or in addition to the beam lance feature of the weapon pod during close-quarters and melee combat.
In the event that the linear cannon was depleted of shells, the Hai-Richon could use its Urgoh-Tah Type-UT-20125 50-megawatt disruptor cannon that was mounted on the top of the flight-pack of the machine.  This cannon was rather old, having been introduced sometime around 298,750 BC on what may have been one of the first Prodono battlesuit types.  This disruptor was a very powerful energy weapon that could inflict damage equal to the linear cannon or the beam lance to targets that did NOT use energy-resistant armor plating.
The final weapon systems of the standard Prodono battlesuit were two clusters of ten Mogul-Nek-Tha’gurl Type-MGNT-20115 medium-range missile launchers mounted on each side of the top of the flight-pack.  These mini-missiles were leftovers from a bygone era of the Prodono who did not utilize missile weaponry on very many of their warships or mecha.  Introduced sometime around 298,850 BC, these tri-shot mini-missile launchers fired the five-pound L’orek class of missile. The range of this missile, and the lack of nuclear warheads in the inventory lists for this launcher, is what Dr. Xiang found surprising.  The L’orek missile was intended to use only HEAP warheads, which made it something of an oddity considering that a nuclear weapon would be far more effective against energy-resistant targets.
The Hai-Richon Type-20147 was equipped with a Prodono NLS (Neural Link System) computer that allowed the pilot to merge telepathically with his battlesuit. This gave the pilot an enormous advantage against his opponents.  This system was part of the basis for NLS-type systems used on the USR BattleKnight series.
