We all have our likes and dislikes, as well as what we want and don't want to see. This thread is meant to act as a place where you can feel free about stating, discussing, and viewing opinions.

This thread of course follows the sites rules and terms. Do not share anything pornographic, do not be rude or untoward anyone, and as a whole remain orderly. No one likes gibberish, so remain coherent enough for people to grasp what you "like" or "Dislike" in an anime or manga.

Some of us like mystery. You may not like mystery, so be sure to state in a respectable manner or not at all. For those groups of people that start a clique of strong-arming others into agreeing with them, please be aware the Prime Administrator is watching.

Enjoy the thread, and all it has to offer.

Ghost in the Shell SAC was an epic win IMHO. :)

The artwork was superb, both the english and Japanese VAs did excellent jobs with their respective characters and Kenji Kamiyama did a fine job of adapting the manga to the big-screen.

All three of the SAC works are worth buying IMO.
I own them all and I rewatch the show on [as] whenever I get the chance.

Witch Hunter Robin

I liked this series quite a bit, but I have to pick on it for two reasons.
One, is there a good reason why nobody can finish a damn sentence!?!?!?
- Well, I gues we should...
- Maybe if we try...
- But I...
- How will we...
You get the picture. First it was funny, then it just got irritating.

Second,
How friggin' long does it take for the group to trust Robin?
In the LAST episode, they are like, Um, I don't know if we can trust her...
Aaarghhh!!

Anyway, it is still an anime series that I would recommend.

Gundam 00 is an epic WIN!

I love Gundam UC universe the best, but 00 comes very close.

It has it all.
Mecha.
Romance,
Intrigue.
Betrayal.
And an alien menace that you don't see coming.

One thing it doesn't have...MOE!
I hate MOE. ;)

Total win IMHO.

Gundam 00 is an epic WIN!

It's well-liked despite it's average ratings for a Gundam show. I like it too, Kodai. Though then again I like most mecha. Long as the plot can hold water I'm fine with it.

I hate MOE.

I like moe long as it isn't saturated like in some anime. Too much fanservice ruins the atmosphere for me.

Rai have you seen Hell Girl?

If so, I'd like to know your opinion on it.

The show sort of threw me for a curve, not sure if I like it or not.

Hahaha, to be alittle honest this once I've been meaning to watch it but never got around to it. Currently I'm paying close attention to Pandora Hearts and Scrapped Princess.

Unfortunately, my feelings on Pandora Hearts is mixed - the anime's build-up was actually quite great, but the ending felt rushed and dulled out. I'm currently following the manga and keeping my fingers crossed for a season two.

Scrapped Princess I've just started - so I can't give you my opinion on it quite yet.

Oh, and I've read up on Hell Girl. It does sound interesting, once I thin out my list I'll give it a try.

Oh I'll bet you'd like Hellgirl.

Pandora Hearts I've never heard of.
I'll have to check that one out.
My buddy has told me a lot about it.
He says it's a great series.
Geseric (https://nexusarcana.com/forums/member.php?12-Geseric-vonkesslemere)also tells me that Claymore is supposed to be really good.
I haven't seen that one yet either.

Oh, if you like zombie flicks, check out High School of The Dead.
It's not really my kind of movie, but if you like horror you'll like HOTD.

High School of The Dead.

I can only take a certain about of sexually explicit fanservice before I feel offended about it.

I've seen HOTD, and I really can't say I can take the storyline seriously when there are panty shots and flinging breasts every three to five seconds. I stopped after episode 7, it was just too much for me to handle in the end. I moved towards other series, the kind that didn't rely so strongly on the 'fapservice'.

Bleach is a WIN in my book. Ichigo is one of my most favorite characters!!! The American voice acting is awesome, and in fact that whole crowd that does Bleach, Code Geass, GITS, Death Note are some of the best anime voice actors ever. I really don't have a preference for reading subtitles or hearing the dubbed version, but sometimes it does make a difference. Like in Tenchi Muyo - the voice acting is some of the WORST! I mean, it is really bad. They do improve a little, but damn. With the current crop of voice actors though, I think they do a great job.
With that said, I do have a few beefs with Bleach, namely the "recap" and the "recap of the recap". I mean, really, do they have spend the first five minutes of the episode recapping what happened in the very last episode??!! Also, there seems to be an overuse of a few phrases (usually during a battle): "Impossible!" and "It can't be!" But the worst is the levels of power-up:
- "You have not seen the full force of my power"
- "Wait till you feel the power of my ultimate attack"
- then "my true power"
- then super ability
- true super power
- ultimate true super power
- extreme ultimate true super power
- super dooper extreme ultimate true super power
- and finally "the Power of Anger Badass"

By the way, my all-time favorite overused anime cliche (usually said enthusiastically by a female character) is "I'll do my best!!"

Lol. In another case, I like gundam 00 as well, but i pefer Seed as my fav. Not that much sense in the storyline, but the fact thhat it has action, mecha, drama, flair, and other such made it fun. And it rarely has fanservice, which i dislike.

Gundam 00 is sweet, hey have you seen the movie yet?
I hear it's really good, but haven't gotten a chance to watch it.
Gundam Unicorn is supposed to be really good too.
I'm actually watching Gundam Seed for the second time now.
I watched it years ago when it was on [adult swim], but they pulled it before it finished.
I also dislike too much fanservice.
A little is okay for me, but some shows do have too much.
The thing I absolutely hate in anime is emo.
Good god, what is it with Japanese anime lately?
I grew up on Space Battleship Yamato, Macross, and UC Gundam.
There was a little emo in those shows, but not like it is now.
I hope the emo fad ends soon, I enjoy anime that is more serious and adult oriented.

Ahhh, Gundam 00. Now that was a considerable Gundam show. Though it started out somewhat slow, it certainly picked up the pace. My particular favorite character is Lockon Stratos. The show isn't dissimiliar from the Gundam series, as it still holds true on the stance of warfare.

Edit: Well, to be more accurate - Ali Al-Sacheez and Lockon are both of my favorites.

I'm perfectly fine with the angst and emotional scenes, so long as they aren't meaningless like in some shows. In fact, I rather like the angst the Gundam series expresses.... most of the time.

On the talk of Gundam, an old classic I'll always consider a favorite is Zeta Gundam. Tomino made, that is.

Oh hell YES!
Zeta Gundam ranks up there in my top 10 Gundam series.
I wish they'd release ZZ Gundam here in the states.
The whole UC universe is my favorite (though I do like all the Gundam series except for G-Gundam, I tried really hard to like it, but just couldn't  ).

I have to agree with you on that good sir, that they should release ZZ Gundam in the states, but what with all the regulation's and copyrights needing to be purchased and processed, I dobut that it will be released here. On the other hand we do have things like Amazon.com to but that stuff =D.

Though I haven't watched Gundam 00 I also hear that it is pretty good, but I dobut I will watch it anytime soon.
In my books Gundam Wing AC was the best thing that I loved out of all the gundam series when I was growing up, I used to cheer on the bad guys saying "Go Epyon kill that fool!" and "Oh snap! Wing Zero is here!" Yes good times...good times.

What I am watching right now is Gundam Unicorn and I have to say it is amazing, but with Amuro Ray and Char gone, I find the UC universe a bit lonley. ='(

I haven't gotten around to watching Gundam Unicorn yet. :(
I've been reading Gundam Crossbone, and it's excellent.
Its a UC Gundam universe manga series that takes place after Gundam Unicorn even though it was made in the late 1980s.

Just got done watching Gundam 00 just last week and saw the ending. I was like totally amazed at how the battle went with Setsuna and Ribbons (That nasty son of a bitch, Excuse my language). I really hate Ribbons now and hope he burns in eternal ****fire and what now because he killed my one of my favorite characters on their, Anew Returner.

Now I need to watch the movie that's dubbed and not the subbed one because I watched all the season's in dubbed and the japanese voices would completely throw me off for some reason that I don't know why. Can't wait to watch it, but I sorta ruined the ending of the movie by looking at Setsuna's profile on Gundam Wiki. I curse myself for doing that.

You know I really wish the wiki's would use some type of "spoiler" tag when they post sensitive info.
It's how I learned that in Code Geass Lelouch dies at the end.

BTW, welcome to the VIP member's club xX_Flare3_Xx. :)

Yea I know you're telling me. I think that is the only time that wikia has done to spoil something for me, but now that I have learned my lesson I won't be committing the same mistake twice.

Oh and thanks for the welcome.

Wikis can be useful sometimes when you've already seen an anime or if you're looking for the complete list of episodes.
Other than that they can be a real ban in the behind.

Well I just remembered another anime/manga that is a "win" in my books, which is Break Blade and guess what? It's a mech one!!!

The characters in this story are really great, but I prefer the manga over the anime.

Ah, the manga by Yoshinaga Yosuke.
Looks really cool.

I just checked out the first issue the "UnSorcerer" on mangafox.

Interesting that they call their mobile suits "Golems."
I used the same name for certain Ultra-Technology battlesuits in my own Science Fiction.
I took it from the black and white silent film "Der Golem" the same way I image they did, unless Mr. Yoshinaga Yokuse is also into Kabbalah.
Kabbalah discusses the nature of the Golem, how it's made, what it is, etc.

Thank you Flare3 for reminding me about that manga.
I'll have to read that one when I finish CrossBoneGundam.

Wow Prime that was an awesome video if I say so myself. I really want one of those space battleships now.

And I looked at the price and converted it into US dollars for today and I was like DAMN!

Do you know what scale it is?

Prime Administrator
06-17-2011, 05:04 PM
The model is 1/625th scale.

The Mechanical Complete Model Lancelot Air Cavalry from Code Geass is pretty cool also.

http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/2508/mechanical_complete_model_lancelot_air_cavalry_cod e_geass

It's only about $70.00 US so that's not too bad.

I so forgot to mention this to everyone so, put what you have on hold right now because I'm about to blow your mind!

Nah not really blow your mind, but anyways I wanted people to know that I must HIGHLY recommend watching an Anime called Air TV. Just watch and please don't watch the trailer because I want to see some shocked faces and in my opinion watching an anime trailer just puts what you expect out of a show to be...how should I say...Down? I dont know the real world since I'm having a brain fart right now...and I'm devianting off topic again.

Anyways, Yea. Watch that show NOW! It is full of heartrending scenes and as a guy, and I have no shame in saying this, it made me cry at the end (I don't mean shed a tear, I mean FULL blown crying because it was so sad). soooooo.... WATCH IT!

I command you! (Dang no geass powers, gotta ask my friend in bio to work on that for me)

Thank you Flar3 I'll have to check that one out, and I won't watch the trailer first...promise.
