We are a small publishing company whose vision is to bring an open-minded and more diverse selection of fictional works over what has been commonplace in the last three decades.
         Yesod Publications is a publishing house dedicated to the "Campbellian Idea" of fiction with a strong emphasis on the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres.
         That's not to imply that we aren't open to works that fall outside the late Mr. Campbell's measure, it simply means that we here at Yesod will make every effort to adhere to the principles laid out by John Campbell. As editor of Astounding magazine, John Campbell made numerous contributions to American fiction that are undeniably great, and thus worthy of emulation.
         Currently the fiction market has been saturated with "standard" stories compounded by editing standards that can be considered "futurian" in nature. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with that approach to fiction there are plenty of other respectable, well-established publishing houses which produce those kinds of works. The "standard" style of fiction put out by other publishers does not reflect the kind of fictional works we here at Yesod Publications produce.
         In short, our overall approach to fictional works is best summarized in the words of J.B.S. Haldane when he said, "I have no doubt that in reality the future will be vastly more surprising than anything I can imagine. Now my own suspicion is that the Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose."
